IMPORTANT POINTS ABOUT TENSES TO MEMORIZE
There are twelve tenses in our English Grammar: Main Tenses are Present Tense ,Past Tense and Future Tense .These tenses are further divided into four sub categories or part e.g Present indefinite, past indefinite, future indefinite ,present continuous ,Past continuous, future continuous ,Present perfect, Past Perfect, Future perfect, Present Perfect continuous ,Past perfect continuous and future perfect continuous, So total Tenses are twelve (3X4=12) three main tenses X four sub categories=12 all tenses
1. In twelve tenses there are six tenses named, continuous tenses.in all of these six tenses 1st form of verb are used with the addition of Ing .
2. Second form of verb is used only in past indefinite tense & there is no use of second form of verb in other tenses, while in the past indefinite tense in interrogative sentences & negative sentences 1st form of verb will be used .Second form of verb will never be used in negative and interrogative sentences.
3. 3rd form of verb will be used in all perfect tenses & there is no use of 3rd form of verb in other tenses.
4. 1st form of verb is used in present indefinite tense .is , are & am will not use in this tense.eg ,He( is) write a letter is incorrect while He writes a letter is a correct sentence in present tense in the same case ,I( am) go to school is an incorrect while I go to school is the correct sentence.
5. In past indefinite tense in negative sentence we add only did not & in interrogative sentence we add did before the subject ,while in other tenses there is no use of did.
6. Do not & does not are used only in present indefinite tense. & not used in other tenses.
7. in past indefinite tense we cannot use was & were with 2nd form of verb.eg, I was wrote a letter is an incorrect while I wrote a letter is correct sentence. In the same case they were played football is an incorrect while they played football is correct sentence .In past indefinite tense in negative & interrogative we do not use 2nd form of verb.in this case we use 1st form of the verb e.g ,I did not write a letter is a correct sentence and I did not wrote a letter is an incorrect sentence. Did I write a letter is a correct sentence& Did I wrote a letter is an incorrect sentence.
8. Present participle of a verb that is ing form alone as a finite verb is not used until in present tense is, am and are in past tense was, were and in future tense shall be, will be are not added.
9. past participle of a verb that is 3rd form of a verb alone as a finite verb is not used until in present tense has , have in past tense had and in future tense shall have ,will have are not added and then, in order to use had or shall have ,will have it is necessary to mention the end of one action one after the other and the start of an other action in the same sentence.
10. in present participle of a verb has been, have been, had been , will have been ,shall have been is used only in that case when since and for are also used in a sentence and it is necessary for the use of since and for that in these sentences the point of time and the period of time is also mentioned.
11. in present indefinite tense when the subject is singular the form of verb is also used in singular form and when the subject is plural the form of verb will be used in plural form , verbs are always exist plural in their base form when it need to make singular we add s/es/ies to it to become singular e.g play (plural verb) plays (singular verb), in the comparison of these rule the noun is always singular in base form and when we add s/es/ies to it then it will become plural e.g book (singular) and books (plural)
12. Such verb which have o,x,z,ch,ss,sh ,zz letter at the end we add only es to these verb e.g Go (Goes),Teach (teaches) ,push (pushes),buzz (buzzes) e.t.c

- Structure: Subject + base form of the verb (add ‘s’ or ‘es’ for third person singular)
- Example: She works.
- Present Continuous Tense:
- Structure: Subject + am/is/are + verb + ing
- Example: They are playing.
- Present Perfect Tense:
- Structure: Subject + have/has + past participle
- Example: I have finished.
- Present Perfect Continuous Tense:
- Structure: Subject + have/has been + verb + ing
- Example: He has been studying.
- Past Simple Tense:
- Structure: Subject + past form of the verb
- Example: We went.
- Past Continuous Tense:
- Structure: Subject + was/were + verb + ing
- Example: She was cooking.
- Past Perfect Tense:
- Structure: Subject + had + past participle
- Example: They had left.
- Past Perfect Continuous Tense:
- Structure: Subject + had been + verb + ing
- Example: I had been waiting.
- Future Simple Tense:
- Structure: Subject + will + base form of the verb
- Example: I will call.
- Future Continuous Tense:
- Structure: Subject + will be + verb + ing
- Example: They will be traveling.
- Future Perfect Tense:
- Structure: Subject + will have + past participle
- Example: I will have graduated.
- Future Perfect Continuous Tense:
- Structure: Subject + will have been + verb + ing
- Example: She will have been working.
